NED Scholars is a non-profit corporation and operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We recognize the existence of “social classes” in various cultures and work to eliminate it through the promotion of STEM education. NED SCHOLARS funds students in their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) education on Bachelor, and Graduate levels. These scholarships are provided on need-cum-merit basis. (Also read our History)

Our goal is to promote social progress through increased educational opportunity and achievement.

Our strategy is to provide mentoring, professional development training, and financial support for higher education to talented students from underserved communities.

It is our belief that “a single person” with the right education can change the life of an entire family. Most of our scholars are first in their family to go to university for STEM education.

Since 2015 we have opened the scholarship to students from various countries in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) education. Currently we are entertaining applicants from Pakistan and USA on need-cum-merit basis. Soon we will start our operation in other countries. We call our scholarship recipient as “Scholars”. Coming for lower middle class and poor families these scholars lack in money, resources, professionalism, self esteem and motivation. These scholars are usually from poor neighborhood that lack quality education. These students have overcome such barriers to get admissions in STEM related field in major universities in their countries.

What makes it a different scholarship are the efforts that we put in our scholars to motivate them, raise their self esteem, increase their skill sets both Technical and social and to guide them throughout their studies.

Scholars are selected through a vigorous intake process. One important activity of NED SCHOLARS is  our Mentorship program. NED Scholars provide mentors to all scholarship recipients.  Every scholars has a mentor.  Scholars are encouraged to communicate directly with the NED Scholars group and mentors.  These Mentors help scholars in:

  • Their academics, course work and projects
  • Acquiring summer jobs
  • Getting essential training in various subjects on as per need basis.
  • Professional growth and development.
  • Addressing social and personal issues
